Heppner Elementary Parent Teacher Club (PTC) is hosting a Snack Drive October 12–22, and they need your help! Each month, PTC provides snack boxes for our classrooms so students who forget a snack or aren't able to bring one from home always have something to enjoy.
How to help:
🍎 Donate boxes of individually packaged, classroom-friendly snacks.
📍 Drop off at the Heppner Elementary office now through October 22, or bring your donations to the Fall Carnival!
💙💛 DONATE SNACKS, EARN CARNIVAL GAMES!
🎟️ For every box of snacks donated, your family will receive a $5 punch card to use at our Fall Carnival!
⭐ Limit of 5 $5 punch cards per family ($25 value).

🐎Showing up is something worth celebrating! 🐎
We are excited to announce that Kindergarten and 2nd Grade were our September attendance winners! Both grades celebrated their awesome attendance with some special treats!
Our goal is 90% attendance or better for EVERY Colt! That means students should miss no more than 14 days during the school year, whether those absences are excused or unexcused. We know life happens! Kids get sick, appointments come up, and sometimes staying home is exactly what they need. When your student needs to be absent, just let their teacher or Mrs. Chick know so we can get their absence excused.
The fun doesn't stop here! Each month, we'll celebrate the class with the highest attendance percentage with a special treat!

Morrow County School District celebrated its Crystal Apple Award winners at the "Excellence in Education" Awards banquet on Monday, May 11.
Tina Crowell is a school-based counselor at Windy River Elementary.
Jennifer Pope is an English Language Learners (ELL) teacher at A.C. Houghton Elementary.
Stefanie Spivey is a social studies teacher at Heppner Jr./Sr. High School.
Dave Fowler was presented with the Legacy Award this year. Dave is a Manufacturing teacher at Heppner Jr./Sr. High School. Having taught at the school for 37 years, his commitment to high-quality instruction, paired with his dedication to students, has helped build a strong Technology and Manufacturing program at the school. Thank you for your years of steadfast service to the Morrow County School District.

This week is Teacher Appreciation Week, and four amazing educators from the Morrow County School District were named Crystal Apple Award winners this year. They will be recognized at the 2026 Crystal Apple Awards on May 11, 2026.
Tina Crowell, Jennifer Pope, and Stefanie Spivey received the Crystal Apple Award. Dave Fowler was a Legacy Award recipient this year, due to his many years of dedicated service to Heppner Jr./Sr. High School.
