Today is the Good Behavior Movie. It will start promptly at 12:25. Concessions will be sold for each grade just before you go in the gym for the movie. Those students with referrals will stay with their teachers during the movie and continue to work on their studies. Good behavior and not referrals is your ticket to the movies. Remember, all you actions have consequences, positive or negative.

Today will be our Academic Awards Assembly. All students will attend the assembly.

Welcome to our Site

At IES we are eager to educate our students. Our mission is:

To provide our students with the highest level of
safety and academic engagement
through student, staff, and community teamwork.

Our school serves fourth, fifth and sixth grades with eight classroom teachers, a special education teacher, as well as English Language Learner (ELL) and Title I support teachers. We also have a Music/Technology teacher and a Physical Education teacher as well. Educational assistants provide additional support.

Our educational programs include instruction in Language Arts (reading, writing, and spelling), mathematics, science, social studies, health,  music  and technology. We offer programs and activities for students who are identified as eligible for special education services, talented and gifted, and ELL. Our after-school program is held daily Monday through Thursday, each week, to provide students additional support in reading and math, writing and homework.

Our active student council is involved in the development of positive team building activities for all students. They conduct quarterly student recognition assemblies and determine student rewards for academic growth and excellence.

Parents are always welcome at Irrigon Elementary School. They are encouraged to meet with teachers frequently. All teachers are generally available to talk with parents daily from 7:00 am to 7:25 am and 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm. Other times can be arranged by appointment. Parents may also communicate via e-mail or phone @ (541) 922-2421.

Our student handbook contains lots of specific information and parents are encouraged to discuss the handbook contents with their student. You can look at our handbook by clicking on Parent Student Handbook on our home page.
